Luiz A. Brito

Luis Brito is dean of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP) in São Paulo as well as a full professor of the Operations Department. Prior to his academic activity, he had a long-standing involvement with the private sector, taking senior management positions at the Bunge group (Sanbra, Santista Alimentos) and Bemis Inc. (Dixie Toga).
Brito’s research covers the intersection between strategic management and operations: value creation and appropriation in supply chains and operational capabilities and practices. He has been an active member of the Strategic Management Society, the Academy of Management, the Associação Nacional de Pós Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração, and the Production and Operations Management Operations Society, where he served as vice president for Latin America from 2011 to 2013.
In addition to serving on the AACSB board of directors, Brito has served on the AACSB Innovation Committee, the EQUIS Committee, the EQUIS Accreditation Board, and the Advisory Board of EFMD Global Network, Americas.
Brito holds a degree in chemical engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and PhD in business from FGV EAESP.
